Our Mission
We're PIACE, the Progressive Italian American Cultural Exchange. By progressive, we mean a culture that's still moving. We bring together artists, creators, scholars, and community members who are shaping what Italian-American life looks like now, and we give them a place to do it together.
What Does PIACE Do?

Each month, we gather at venues like the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute in Midtown Manhattan for a lecture series that treats Italian American culture, history, and identity as living, evolving subjects shaped by ongoing dialogue.

We come together to question assumptions, generate new perspectives, and consider how cultural knowledge can be reinterpreted and set into motion.

We carry this work outward. Through events, workshops, collaborations, and shared rituals, we engage our surrounding communities, building spaces where Italian American identity is continually reimagined and lived..
